Differences of Customs

We searched differences of customs between Japan and America. For example, greeting, public transportation, meal and daily life.

First I’ll tell you about differences of greeting. In America, everyone greets each other, if they don’t know each other. They say “Hello” to strangers. But Japanese say “Hello” only their friends. I think American people are very friendly and frank.

On the other hand, there are many shy people in Japan. They are shy in front of strangers, so sometimes Japanese people are regarded as frosty. But some Japanese people are out going and amicable to strangers like American people. Especially, people live in Osaka are very funny and friendly.

When you greet to strangers in Japan, they may not reply to you. But don’t worry. They are just shy.
